NCL-4: Commercialization with Agreement or Royalties

NCL-4: Commercialization with Agreement or Royalties#

Permission is granted to commercialize the licensed material under the condition that an explicit agreement is reached with the author or rights holder, which may include the payment of royalties.

1. Scope#

Commercial use of the material is allowed only if:
A formal agreement is established between the commercializing party and the author or rights holder.
Royalties or other compensations are defined and agreed upon in writing.
The agreement must clearly outline the terms of use, scope of commercialization, and any applicable fees.

2. No Additional Restrictions#

No additional restrictions may be imposed on the material beyond those defined in this rule, unless specified by other NCL rules included in the license composition.

3. Transparency in Derivatives#

All derivative works created under this rule must transparently disclose:
The terms of the agreement allowing commercialization.
Any royalties or compensations provided to the author or rights holder.
Proper attribution to the author or rights holder must be maintained.

4. Disclaimer#

This rule does not guarantee the right to commercialize the material. Authorization is at the sole discretion of the author or rights holder, as outlined in NCL-0 and NCL-2.
Note: NCL-4 must always be combined with both NCL-0 and NCL-2, and may coexist with other rules in the NCL framework.
